The national voice for Australian dairy farmers

Gavin Robb

Gavin Robb is a fourth-generation dairy farmer from Alstonville, positioned on the far north coast of NSW. Also an active representative on the ADF National Council and the NSW Farmers Dairy Committee, Gavin works in both dairy and beef production in partnership with his wife, Kath, and son, Steven.

In an effort to overcome the problems of traditional dairy breeds performing at reduced levels under hot, humid and tick-prone conditions, Gavin was involved in the CSIRO’s cattle breeding program in the 1970’s and 80’s which saw the development of the Australian Milking Zebu.  Shortly after, the progeny was exported to several overseas countries.

Gavin’s dairy farm has supplied fresh milk to Norco since commercial dairying production first commenced on the property over a century ago. Gavin is also a shareholder of Genetics Australia.
