Australian Dairy Vision media launch: dairy comes to Parliament
Dairy cows grazed the lawns of Federation Mall, Parliament House in Canberra on 1 September, 2015 to celebrate the official launch of the industry’s very first Australian Dairy Vision.
The Australian Dairy Industry Council (ADIC) invited two cows from Cumberoona Holstein Farm to make the short trip from Cowra, NSW under the watchful eye of owners, Ian and Lisa Hindmarsh and neighbour Rose Moxey. As they grazed the plush pastures of Federation Mall, Federal parliamentarians and the media were invited to meander on the lawn and join in the celebration.
The media event attracted both sides of government, including Minister for Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce and Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Joel Fitzgibbon who were captured standing side by side with one of the prized Holstein cows. The Australian Dairy Vision, "Australian Dairy – Prosperous, Trusted, World Renowned Nutrition" was later unveiled by the Australian Dairy Industry Council (ADIC) to federal parliamentary representatives and key industry leaders at the ADIC Dairy Dinner in Canberra that night.
